Bonneville Shoreline Trail 300

Coming from Arizona, I always wanted to ride the Arizona Trail 300 race. Its a completely self-supported ride that begins at the border of Mexico and goes all the way to Phoenix. It isn't really a race, but, more of a competition against yourself, to see if you can do it. In other words, its just my type of ride. I've never been the fastest rider out there. I've been told that at 6'2" and 220 I am rather giant for a mountain biker and its really going to be hard to be a competitive racer. However, for me, mountain biking has always been more about exploring and pushing my own limits....showing myself what I can do. So, now that I live in Utah, I probably won't have a chance to do the Arizona Trail 300 anytime soon. However, what if we did another event up here....the Bonneville Shoreline Trail 300. We could start the event out down in Nephi and ride all the way up to Preston Idaho, or perhaps to Malad Idaho, to honor my Malad roots...along the whole length of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. I'm not sure if this can be done at the moment as the Bonneville Shoreline Trail website mentions that only more than 100 miles has been completed. However, the trail will eventually span roughly 300 miles. See the website here.... Seems like a great bring the Arizona Trail 300 to Utah with the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.

  1. For me, it's always a competition against myself. I tend not to care whether other people are faster or slower. I'm looking for something else.

  2. Yeah, that really is the best way to look at our sport.
